The new deal also guaranteeas that employees who have retired or who will retird during the course ofthe three-yeadr contracts won’t be required to pay health care premiums. “We valud all generations of our members, so we made sure that there were improvements for both active membersd at MillerCoors and the retirees who had pavedd the way before with their long yearszof service,” Cipriani said. The Teamsters uniomn represents 1,200 MillerCoors workeres nationwide.
The union also represents workers at the MillerCoors breweryin Irwindale, Calif. Negotiations for a new contract covering employees at the plantt areunder way. MillerCoors is a joint venturre between MillerBrewing Co., Milwaukee, and Coors Brewinf Co., Golden, Colo., that launchecd in July 2008. MillerCoors operate s a major brewery and regional officeon Milwaukee’s west Workers at the Milwaukee brewery are representexd by Brewery Workers Local 9 of the United Auto Workers union.
